Questions and Answers
  1. What were your limitations prior to the Implant operation?
  2. I could not eat anything at the back of my mouth, only with my front teeth, eating was preferable without my denture. I wasn’t able to speak and sing without fear of loosing my denture. The denture often tipped and came crashing down resulting in abrasions and ulcerations in my mouth. Because it was so unstable it used to often tip, which was so embarrassing.
  3. What was the surgery like?
  4. Surgery was fine. It was not nerve racking. It was explained to me in great details what was going to happen and I understood all that was explained to me. The surgery took less time than predicted and I never felt a thing. It was very comfortable in the chair and the two surgeons and staff assisting were all very caring and thoughtful. My recovery was excellent. The whole procedure took approximately five hours and I was well cared for throughout.
The only pain experienced was approximately 7:30pm once the local wore off. I did not require the swabs that were issued. There was no bleeding whatsoever. The post-op discomfort continued due to the ulcers I had and also the genial tubercles done prior to this surgery.
  5. What can you do now that you couldn’t do before?
  6. I can now eat properly using my full set of teeth, I even ate cashew nuts last week which I haven’t been able to do since having my teeth out. I eat fruits and everything I need to with comfort.
I can now speak and sing with confidence. I now belong to a singing group again and sing with Probis singers. I can now sing to my hearts content.
I can smile with confidence and I like my teeth as do other people. The best part of it was that I didn’t need to get new dentures. I have the technique to click them in and out with ease. I have problems with my arms so click off one side then the other.
I wish to thank everyone for what they have done for me. It has made my life so much better.
