John holds a consultancy at Tauranga Hospital and helps in the training of the Maxillofacial registrar at Waikato Hospital. He is an active member of the Australia and New Zealand Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the New Zealand Dental Association, the Waikato Maxillofacial Audit Group and the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. He has many published scientific papers and is a regular presenter at Scientific Meetings. He held a training Fellowship in Frieburg Germany and has been an invited presenter to overseas Surgical conferences and Seminars. He undertakes to satisfy the credentialing and registration requirements of the New Zealand Dental and Medical Association including a yearly audit and holds current Resuscitation certification.
