Am I a suitable patient?
All patients requesting implant care are carefully accessed as to their suitability. This involves a detailed medical history to ensure your safety with surgery and to manage any medical conditions that may impact on your care. The potential implant site is critically examined for adequate bone and absence of disease. A number of additional investigations such as radiographs (x-rays), photographic records and models of the implant site are taken for further assessment. Only patients who are deemed to be suitable are accepted for implant treatment but most patients who present for care can be treated with preliminary procedures if required to make them suitable.
